September has been designated “blood cancer awareness month” by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Multiple myeloma is one type of blood cancer and it rarely produce signs or symptoms unless it’s very advanced. Myeloma is often discovered by doctors performing routine blood work for other reasons.
